Three Mayfield Bathrooms

To completely refurbish three bathrooms.

Duration

2 months

Location

What we did

During the initial project consultation, we discussed how to make the best use of space. This was particularly important when it came to the family bathroom, where our client wanted to incorporate both a shower and a roll top bath. To facilitate this, we suggested updating the hot water system and moving the water tanks into the loft. This solution allowed us to remove the airing cupboard and free up space in the bathroom for a shower. We also took out a redundant chimney to make space for a vanity basin.

After our initial visit, plans were drawn up by Plumbase to show possible layouts. Our client then had the opportunity to visit the Plumbase showroom to select their products. Once these had been finalised, we provided a full quote including both the bathroom products from Plumbase and the labour and materials for the refurbishment.

Each bathroom was stripped back to bare walls and insulated where appropriate. Ceilings were over boarded and floors re-boarded. Lower walls were panelled with shaker style panelling which was made up on site. Upper walls and ceilings were plastered.

Shower areas were tiled and rooms painted in Farrow and Ball colours, along with the rolltop bath. The chosen bathroom products were fitted and new flooring laid.

Client Feedback

I cannot recommend Tim and his team too highly. He has undertaken work on my detached Edwardian house over 15 years, starting with small repair jobs, and moving on to major projects. His most recent were complete refits of 3 bathrooms, and a bedroom. Most importantly, the work is of a very high standard, and he is very reliable. He communicates well, so that you know what’s going on, and he will discuss matters as they arise. He and his team are completely trustworthy.
