How we work

Every project is different, but here is an overview of our process, to give you an idea of how we work. You can read more about us and our ethos on our about page.

Initial Consultation

Tim will start by listening, asking questions and discussing ideas. Whether it’s a high-end loft conversion, a ‘back-to-the-shell’ refurbishment of a neglected property, or a conversion of a single dwelling into flats, we will start by talking through potential options, discussing feasibility/pros and cons and considering budget/timescale implications.

Structural Expertise

For some projects, structural advice will need to be considered, and in these cases we will work alongside a structural engineer to ensure all necessary aspects are addressed. We also work with architects, interior designers and building control as necessary.

We have used Tim to gut and rebuild our master bathroom and to do the entire fit-out of an oak framed 3 bay garage with living accommodation above. Most of the work was done by him and his people but he also managed both projects, bringing in electricians, floorers, plasterers, etc. as necessary and within a set timescale. There were numerous problems, most of which Tim solved without consulting me, but he always did consult us if it could change either the specifications or the look. He always arrived when he said he would or he contacted us about any delay. I trust him absolutely, both with keys to the house and alarm and on the financial side- with the bathroom he came in as per his quote and on the fit-out he charged me monthly on a time and materials basis. On both jobs we are delighted with the finished results and the amounts he charged. On both jobs there was some snagging, which he cheerfully came back to fix at his cost.

Proposal / Quotation

Once we have a firm idea of how the project will look, we create a proposal / quotation, detailing what we plan to do and the likely costs. Alternatively, if preferred, we can work on a time and materials basis.

Project Implementation

Project implementation takes place over an agreed timescale and will be managed by Tim himself. All fitting, plumbing and tiling are undertaken by our in-house team, complimented by a reliable team of plasterers, floorers and electricians – all of whom we know and trust to bring about high quality results. Our aim is to provide a polite, friendly on-site service with as little disruption as possible. Our customers appreciate the tidy, quiet and reliable way in which we work and also our constructive and positive approach to problem-solving.

Post-Project Support

In the event of any post-project issues or snagging, Tim will come back to visit and correct any problems. The high quality of our work is very important to us. We have lots of repeat custom because people are happy with our finished results and the way we work. Our emphasis is on paying attention to every detail, to ensure you are happy with your space.
